But what exactly does a specification of services contain - and why is it so important? This is a document that lists all the construction services required for a building project. There are two types of specification of services: trade-specific bills of quantities and the overall bill of quantities. These regulations set out the binding rules for the tendering and awarding of construction contracts.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p>A bill of quantities is usually drawn up by architects, civil engineers or specialised planners, in close cooperation with the client and the specialist companies involved. As this is a highly complex document, it is important that it is drawn up by experts in the field.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">What is the significance of a bill of quantities?<\/h2>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p>A bill of quantities ensures clear communication between all parties involved, i.e. between the client, the planners and the construction workers. It serves the client as a basis for comparing other offers, which are also presented in the form of a bill of quantities.\u00a0<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p>In addition, a carefully prepared brief prevents any misunderstandings or even disputes, as everyone knows exactly what the expectations, costs and time frame are.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p>The bill of quantities is essential for a construction project and is the basis for all transparency and traceability in project management. A construction project can only succeed efficiently and smoothly with precise, professional specifications.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">What is the content of a bill of quantities in the construction industry?<\/h2>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p>But what exactly does a bill of quantities contain? Normally, a bill of quantities comprises the following elements:<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\r\n<li>Firstly, there is the <strong>Project description<\/strong>which also contains information about the client and the location. The aim here is to clearly define the scope of the construction project and provide all parties involved with an overview.<\/li>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<li>This is followed by the most detailed <strong>service description<\/strong>. It contains a precise description of all the work to be carried out. This also includes a detailed list of all the materials used. Information is also provided on the quantity and quality of the materials.<\/li>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<li>Also on<strong> special requirements<\/strong> such as specific regulations, standards or construction methods are addressed in the specifications.<\/li>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<li>Finally, an LV also contains the most important temporal information, i.e. the <strong>construction schedule including all deadlines.\u00a0<\/strong><\/li>\r\n<\/ul>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p>As the creation of a bill of quantities requires a high level of accuracy and expertise, it is advisable to seek professional help.
